Wesley Chapel Florida, Community of Saddlebrook

Wesley Chapel Florida

Wesley Chapel Fl real estate is bursting with reasonable priced single family homes and properties.   Wesley Chapel , is a great suburb located just 25 miles east of some of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico beaches, and just a 25 minute commute to downtown Tampa . Property values in Wesley Chapel have gone up tremendously in the last several years and—as many people will tell you—has a very bright future ahead for them in the next 3 to 5 years.

Rising among the East Pasco countryside, Wesley Chapel is a community in progress. Citrus fields and pasture lands have given way to upscale neighborhoods with beautiful homes of Tampa executives and their families, who have chosen this quiet suburban lifestyle. New shopping centers continue to appear catering to these suburban pioneers.
Wesley Chapel has a wide array of communities—such as Seven Oaks and its beautiful subdivision, the upscale Sadlebrook which boasts beautiful luxury lakefront and golf course homes and Meadow Pointe a large, diverse community in the heart of Wesley Chapel.—this city is a constant attraction for visitors and new residents from around the world. With an acclaimed interstate system, you can get nearly anywhere quickly. Still an easy commute to the Gulf Beaches, attend Tampa Bay Buccaneer games at Raymond James Stadium, or a Tampa Bay Lightening Hockey Game, visit one of the many museums, the aquarium, one of the many PGA golf courses, or take a stroll along the famed Channelside in downtown Tampa.

HISTORY:

According to the genealogical research done by
Michael C. Boyette, a resident and business owner, Wesley Chapel was originally part of Hernando and was settled in the mid 1800’s when land was granted to Edward Boyette Sr., his 4 sons and others in the Armed Occupation Act. Wesley Chapel was named after the church honoring the founder of Methodism John Wesley. This church stood across from the present site of Double Branch Baptist Church in the 1890’s. Thomas Boyette, Edward’s grandson named the area Double Branch for the twin creeks which flowed through his property.

Wesley Chapel had its own post office from September 1897 until September 1902 when it was combined with Abbott Station, the current Zephyrhills. Cash crop farming, logging, citrus and cattle ranching were the principal activities in Wesley Chapel from its founding into the advent of the interstate system in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Since then it has become first a rural, then a suburban escape from the rapid growth of the Tampa Bay area.

Wesley Chapel Florida Parks and Recreation

Wesley Chapel Parks and Recreation

The Pasco County Recreation Division has developed beautiful facilities for its residents to enjoy. On the west side, Wesley Chapel residents can enjoy the Land O’Lakes Recreational Complex on Collier Blvd., which includes an Olympic sized pool, sports fields and tennis courts. On the east side, the Hercules Aquatic Center on SR 54 in Zephyrhills provides a swimming pool, an exercise/walking area and picnic grounds. Wesley Chapel Youth Sports and the Wesley Chapel Athletic Association represent the children of Wesley Chapel in recreational programs.
In July 2007 the New Wesley Chapel District park was completed! Located off Boyette Road and Overpass Road, this park is one of the largest in the area, offering a host of amenities. The park includes soccer fields, football, baseball, swimming, playgrounds and a meeting center.

The Community/Government Affairs Committee and Pasco County Administrator, John Gallagher and his staff, worked diligently to see this park built. In addition, recently we learned that both Phase II will be completed in 2008!
We are looking forward to it.
